WD98: Typing Slow After Pasting from PowerPoint

SYMPTOMS

After you paste information from PowerPoint 98 to Word, the keyboard response to your typing may become very slow. In addition, you may notice some intermittent character loss and beeping.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, obtain the Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5. For more information about the Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

To temporarily work around this problem, close PowerPoint 98 after you paste the information into Word.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition. This problem has been corrected in the Office 98 Update for Mac OS 8.5.
