WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods.

Method 1

Close the resource pool before inserting the project. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Window menu, click the name of the project that is the resource pool.

  2. On the File menu, click Close. If prompted to save changes, click Yes.

NOTE: If you see duplicate resources in the resource pool, all of the assignments are assigned to the first resource with a given name that is listed in the resource pool. To remove these duplicate resources that do not have assignments, please see following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Method 2

When you insert projects connected to a shared resource pool, link the project to the source file. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Insert menu, click Project.

  2. In the Insert Project dialog box, click the name of the project that you want to insert. Then click to select Link To Project.

  3. Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
