Cannot Add Files Greater than 4 GB to NetShow Theater Server

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add a title that is greater than 4 gigabytes (GB) to a NetShow Theater Server, the following symptoms may occur:


CAUSE

The file size is incorrectly calculated for titles greater than 4 GB.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows NT service pack.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in NetShow Theater Server version 3.0.


MORE INFORMATION

This is an Admin tool DLL, and needs to be installed on all computers that have the NetShow Theater Server tools installed. You must restart your computer for the new DLL to be loaded.

The self-installing executable is Nst990309a.exe; no other files are needed to install this hotfix.
