NetShow Encoder May Stop Responding with VDO Video Codecs

• Microsoft Windows NT Server NetShow Services version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

The Netshow Real Time Encoder may crash if both of the following conditions are true:

• You are using the VDO video codec.
• You are encoding for extended periods of time.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the existing Quickstart templates that best suits your needs.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT Server NetShow 3.0 Services.
