SUMMARY

The Find Bookmark Wizard is a Microsoft Access add-in that will search the forms, reports, and modules in an Access database for text that references either the Bookmark or the AbsolutePosition property. This wizard should be used to assist you in finding code that may cause the problems discussed in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

FdBkmrk.exe contains three separate Add-ins, one each for Microsoft Access 2.0, 7.0, and 97. You only need to use the add-in that is specific to the versions of Access that you have installed on your computer.

Steps to Install the Find Bookmark Wizard


  1. Double-click the FdBkmrk.exe file to expand the files.


  2. Open one of your databases in Microsoft Access.

    NOTE: Do not open the add-in files themselves.


  3. Open the Add-in Manager.

    In Access 2.0: On the File menu, point to Add-ins, and then click Add-in Manager.

    In Access 7.0/97: On the Tools menu, point at Add-ins, and then click Add-in Manager.


  4. Install the appropriate version of the Find Bookmark Wizard Add-in.

Using the Find Bookmark Wizard


  1. Open the Access database that you want to scan for suspect code.


  2. If you haven't already installed the Find Bookmark Wizard, follow the steps listed in the "Steps to Install the Find Bookmark Wizard" section.


  3. Run the Find Bookmark Wizard.

    In Access 2.0: On the File menu, point at Add-ins, and then click the wizard in the list of add-ins.

    In Access 7.0/97: On the Tools menu, point at Add-ins, and then click the wizard in the list of add-ins.


  4. Read the information on the first page of the Find Bookmark Wizard, and then click Scan.


The wizard will scan the forms, reports, and modules for suspect text. When it finishes, it will display a message box indicating whether or not suspect text was found. When you click OK, you will see a summary of the wizards results. If suspect text is found, click the Print Log button to see a full report of the results, including database name, module name, procedure name, and the line number within the procedure where the suspect text was found. The wizard must be run from within any database that you want to scan.
