ACC2000: Empty Row in List Box Can Be Selected

SYMPTOMS

An empty or Null row of a list box can be selected.


CAUSE

Null is a valid selection in Microsoft Access.


MORE INFORMATION

It is also possible to select an empty or Null value in a combo box.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a new form.


  2. Create a list box on the form with the following properties:

       Object: list box
       -------------------------
       RowSourceType: Value List
       RowSource: 1;2;;4 
  4. On the View menu, click Form. Note that you can select the empty row between 2 and 4.
