ACC2000: Pausing the Mouse Over Buttons on Record Navigation Control Covers Other Controls

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and a Microsoft Access project (.adp).


SYMPTOMS

When you pause the mouse pointer over a partially covered button on the record navigation control of a data access page, that button becomes completely visible and the control that was covering the button is partially hidden.


RESOLUTION

The button on the record navigation control will be partially hidden again once you select another button, control, or field on the page.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.


  2. In the Database window, click Pages under Objects, and then click New.


  3. In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click Page Wizard.


  4. In the Tables/Queries list, click Table: Shippers. Move all fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list. Click Finish.


  5. Add a command button to the navigation section of the page so the Help button is partially covered.


  6. On the View menu, click Page View.


  7. Move the mouse pointer over the visible part of the Help button. Note that the entire Help button becomes visible and covers part of the command button.
