ACC2000: Special Effects May Not Be Applied to Controls on a Page

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and a Microsoft Access project (.adp).


SYMPTOMS

When you try to apply a special effect to a control on a data access page, the control may not accept the special effect.


CAUSE

Some special effects are not available to controls on a page.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.


  2. In the Database window, click Pages under Objects, and then click New.


  3. In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click Design view and click OK.


  4. Click the Rectangle tool in the toolbox. Draw a rectangle on the page.


  5. On the Formatting (Page) toolbar, click the arrow to the right of the Special Effects button, and then click Special Effect: Double.

    Note that the border does not change to a double line as you would expect.
