ACC2000: Table Imported into Microsoft Access Project May Be Missing Records

SYMPTOMS

When you import a table into a Microsoft Access project, you may not get the number of records that you expect.


CAUSE

The Default max records setting is too low to import all the records. The default value of the Default max records setting is 10,000.


RESOLUTION

Increase the value of Default max records setting. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. click the Advanced tab.


  3. In the Default max records box, type a number that is equal to or greater than the number of records in the source table.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior.

  1. Open the sample database, Northwind.mdb.


  2. Create a table with more than 10,000 records.


  3. Save the table and close Northwind.mdb.


  4. Create a Microsoft Access Project (ADP).


  5. Import the newly created table from Northwind.mdb.


  6. Open the table in Datasheet view.

    Note that the table is limited to 10,000 records.
