XL: Error or Options Dialog Box Does Not Appear

This behavior may occur when either of the following conditions are true:


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the method appropriate for your situation.

Method 1: Microsoft Excel 7.0 Running Under Windows 95

  1. Quit Microsoft Excel.


  2. Click Start, and click Run.


  3. Type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) and click OK.


  4. Find the following registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Excel\7.0\Microsoft Excel


  5. Select each key that starts with "Options" and click Delete on the Edit menu.


Method 2: Microsoft Excel 5.0 Running Under Windows 3.1

Method 3: Microsoft Excel 5.0 Running Under Windows 95

  1. Quit Microsoft Excel if it is running.


  2. Find a computer that is working.


  3. Click Start, and click Run.


  4. Type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) and click OK.


  5. Find the following registry key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{000204F3-0000-0000-C000-
    000000000046}\1.0\9\win16 @="C:\\WIN95\\SYSTEM\\VBAEN.OLB"


  6. On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File.


  7. Type a file name and click OK.


  8. Go to the computer that is not working.


  9. Click Start, and click Run.


  10. Type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) and click OK.


  11. On the Registry menu, click Import Registry File and import the file created in step 6.





Method 4: Microsoft Excel Version 5.0 for the Macintosh

Remove the following files


   Visual Basic for Applications Preferences
   Microsoft Excel Settings (5)
   PPC Registration Database
   Registration Database, 


and then restart the Macintosh.
