FP2000: Database Pages Created Before Running ASP.EXE on MSPWS 1.0a Return No Data

ID: Q219159

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

If you run ASP.EXE to install Active Server Pages (ASP) on Microsoft Personal Web Server 1.0a after you create database pages, the pages display only column headings, and no data is returned.

CAUSE

When you created the database pages, the server did not support ASP.

ASP was installed on MSPWS 1.0a after the database pages were created. This causes the Data Source connection to not recognize the ASP components on the server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Open the web in FrontPage.

  2. On the Tools menu, click Web Settings.

  3. Click the Database tab.

  4. Click to select the Connection, and click Modify.

  5. Do not make any changes, and click OK.

  6. This will cause the connection to be rewritten.
