SUMMARY

This article gives general information about the default limits to the number of records returned when you use the Database Results Wizard.

MORE INFORMATION

The default limit of records that FrontPage 2000 will return to your system is 256.

This limit is designed to avoid overstressing your Web server, or your own computer.

It is important to realize that both your Web server and your computer have resource limits. If you request too much data from the Web server, you can cause erratic behavior due to overstress on the server.

If you do require more than 256 records to be returned, you have the ability to change the limit or remove it all together.

To change or remove the limit, follow these steps:

NOTE: If you change the limit to a number that is too high, or remove the limit altogether, you may crash the Web server if the recordset is too large.

  1. To change the limit of records returned, double-click the yellow section of your database results region to open the Database Results Wizard.

  2. In step three, click More Options.

  3. If you want to change the limit of records returned, change the number in the Number of Records to Return box.

    -OR-

If you want to remove the limit, click to clear the "Limit number of records to return" check box.

  4. Click OK.

  5. When you finish the wizard, save the page and preview it in your Web browser.
