SUMMARY

In Microsoft FrontPage, you can save a file to two or more separate file locations or in two or more file formats. You can also send a file to multiple e-mail recipients or save different form fields in different locations. To accomplish any of these tasks, you need to use one or more custom confirmation pages that contain the same form field names as the original feedback form.

If you want to specify a single file and e-mail recipient for the results of a form, type the information in the Form Properties dialog box. If you want to specify an optional second file to save the results to, click Options in the Form Properties dialog box. To send a file to multiple e-mail recipients, save different form fields in separate locations, or save the results in more than two files. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the File menu, point to New, and the click Page.


  2. On the Insert menu, point to Form, and then click one line text box.


  3. On the File menu, click Save, and save the file as "Page1.htm".


  4. Click to select the form, and then click Copy on the Edit menu.

    Note: Only the form should be copied.


  5. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Page.


  6. Click Paste on the Edit menu, and then click Save on the File menu and save the file as "Page2.htm".


  7. Switch to Page1.htm and follow these steps:


    1. Right-click the form and click Form Properties on the shortcut menu.


    2. In the Form Properties dialog box, click to select the "Send to:" option.


    3. Specify a file name to send results to, in the "File name:" box.


    4. Specify an email address in the "Email address:" box.


  8. Click Options and then follow these steps:

    1. Click the Confirmation Page tab.


    2. Click Browse.


    3. Select "Page2.htm".


    4. Click OK.


    Note: If you want to save part of the data in the file or send part of it to an e-mail recipient, click the Saved Fields tab. Remove any fields you do not want to save in the results file.


  9. Create a new page for a confirmation message and acknowledgment, by pointing to New and then Page on the File menu.


  10. To use your custom confirmation page with your forms, follow these steps:


    1. Double-click "Page1.htm" to open it.


    2. Right-click the form and click Form Properties on the shortcut menu.


    3. In the Form Properties dialog box, click Options.


    4. Click the Confirmation Page tab.


    5. Browse to the confirmation page created in step 9.


    6. Click OK.


    Note: This will create a daisy-chain effect for your confirmation pages.
