FP2000: Shared Borders are Applied More than Once

SYMPTOMS

After you apply shared borders in FrontPage, some pages have the shared border applied twice to the same page.


CAUSE

The page was not created in FrontPage, and you have more than one <body> tag in your code. FrontPage applies the shared borders to the <body> tag of a page. If there is more than one <body> tag, the shared borders will be applied more than once to each page.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Save the Page in FrontPage

FrontPage does not allow multiple body tags in a single document. If you open the page and save the page again using FrontPage, only a single body tag will be left in the document. If you use this method, each extra instance of shared borders on your page will be removed.

Method 2: Remove Extra <body> Tags From Your HTML Code.

You may open your pages in Notepad, and manually remove or recombine your <body> tags.
