FP98: Two Copies of Each Shared Border Appear in Web Browser

SYMPTOMS

When you preview your page in a Web browser, you see two copies of the shared border. In contrast, in FrontPage Editor, you only see one shared border.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the HTML page you have applied shared borders to has two <body> tags.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:

  1. Open the page that contains two shared borders in FrontPage Editor.

    NOTE: You will not see both shared borders in FrontPage Editor.


  2. On the File menu, click Save.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed in the beginning of this article.
