ERROR MESSAGE

When you reference hyperlinks in Visual Basic for Applications, the following error may occur:

Cannot start an Internet session.

CAUSE

This error message may occur when you are using one of the following Visual Basic for Applications methods:

Doc.FollowHyperlink
Hyperlink.Follow
Document.Reload

There is a problem connecting to the Internet.

WHAT TO TRY

Try connecting to the Internet directly, outside of Visual Basic for Applications or any of the Office programs.

If you are connecting to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), verify that the Dial-up Networking settings are correct. Contact your ISP for the correct configuration information.

If you are connecting to the Internet through a network using a proxy server, verify that your proxy server settings are correct.
