OFF2000: Setup.exe /a Does Not Start Administrative Installation From CD3

SYMPTOMS

When you perform an administrative setup (Setup /a) of Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 using the Office CD3, the administrative setup does not start and the AutoRun dialog box is displayed.


CAUSE

This occurs when you use Setup.exe located on the root of the Office CD3 to perform the administrative installation.


RESOLUTION

To perform an administrative installation of PhotoDraw using the Office CD3, follow these steps:

  1. Insert the Office CD3 into the CD-ROM drive.


  2. Click Exit in the AutoRun dialog box that appears.


  3. Click Start, and click Run.


  4. In the Open box, type the following command-line and click OK


    5. 
<CD-ROM drive>\Photodrw\setup.exe /a
    where <CD-ROM drive> is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
You cannot perform an administrative installation of the Office Server Extensions, which are also on Office 2000 Premium CD3.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
