OL98: (CW) Forms, Administration Tabs Missing in Folder Properties

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When you open the Properties window of a mail folder, the Forms and Administration tabs are not displayed.


CAUSE

The Exchange Extensions property page add-in is not enabled or may not be installed.


RESOLUTION

Install or enable the Exchange Extensions property page add-in by using the add-in manager.

Install the Exchange Extensions Property Pages Add-in

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. Click the Other tab.


  3. Click Advanced Options, and then click Add-In Manager.


  4. Click Install.


  5. Select Emsuix2.ecf, and then click Open.


  6. Click OK three times.


NOTE: You do not need to restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.

Enable the Exchange Extensions Property Pages Add-in

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. Click the Other tab.


  3. Click Advanced Options, and then click Add-In Manager.


  4. Click to select the Exchange Extensions Property Pages check box. A check mark should appear in the box next to the extension name.


  5. Click OK three times.


NOTE: You do not need to restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.


MORE INFORMATION

By default, when you install Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup option, this add-in is installed. However, when you install Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option, this add-in is not installed. In order to manage forms and administer the folder you will need to install this add-in.

If the "Exchange Extensions property pages" add-in is missing or is not turned on, the following tabs appear in the Properties window of the mail folder:
