OL98: (IMO) Fax Not in Inbox If Outlook Is Exited During Transmission

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed.

SYMPTOMS

Incoming faxes are not automatically moved to the Inbox.


CAUSE

You closed Outlook before the fax transmission was completed.


RESOLUTION

Do not close Outlook until the fax transmission is completed and the fax has been posted to the Inbox.


MORE INFORMATION

If a fax is incoming when you shut down Outlook, the fax process will continue to run until the fax has been completely received. Faxes are temporarily stored in the Data folder beneath the Office folder. Because Outlook is not running when the fax is received, the fax process cannot move the fax from temporary storage to the Outlook Inbox.

To move the fax from the temporary storage to the Outlook Inbox, follow these steps:
